DSEA Retired - Member Scholarship Information & Application
DSEA Retired is a professional organization that advocates for public education and the rights and interests of members, provides valuable information to our retired public education employees, and fosters collegiality.
DSEA Retired Association is offering a scholarship opportunity to anyone working in our schools that are DSEA members in good standing and plan on furthering their career in education. The scholarship award is $1,250.00.
Deadline April 1, 2026 – The application with all required paperwork must be post-marked by April 1, 2026.
Requirements:
- Completed Application;
- A typed statement of interest describing the applicant’s need for the scholarship;
- Two letters of recommendation (at least one from school personnel);
- An official high school and/or college transcript (if you are a college graduate, we do not need a copy of your high school transcript);
- An acceptance letter or completed application to college the scholarship will be used for (application will suffice until an acceptance letter is received);
- A typed essay of not less than 250 words or more than 500 words describing how this scholarship will help further your career in education.
NOTE: Applicants must be a DSEA member in good standing to be eligible for this scholarship.

DSEA Retired - Student Scholarship Information & Application
DSEA Retired is a professional organization that advocates for public education and the rights and interests of members, provides valuable information to our retired public education employees, and fosters collegiality.
DSEA Retired offers two scholarship opportunities: one for high school seniors in Delaware Public School Districts who plan on majoring in education and another for DSEA members in good standing who looking to further their career in public education. Each scholarship award is $1,250.
Deadline April 1, 2026 - Application with all required paperwork must be postmarked by April 1st.
Requirements:
- Completed Application
- A typed letter of interest (accompanying the application) describing the applicant’s need for the scholarship.
- Two letters of recommendation from school personnel.
- Official high school transcript
- Acceptance letter to college or completed application to college the scholarship will be used for (application will suffice until an acceptance letter is received).
- A typed essay of not less than 250 or more than 500 words stating why education is important and should be of value in today’s society and why they are choosing a career in education.
NOTE: Applicants DO NOT need to have a family member who is a DSEA Member (active or retired) to qualify for the scholarship.
