AR Virtual Trainings: Advocacy Skills – Grievances

What do you do when a member of the bargaining unit wants to file a grievance? In this month’s virtual session for association representatives, we’ll walk through the basics of handling a grievance—from figuring out whether a contract violation has occurred to deciding what to do next. We’ll talk about how to build your case, understand past practice, and discuss the basics of writing a grievance. Be sure to have a copy of your local contract handy! We’ll connect what we cover to your collective bargaining agreement so you can see how these rights and protections apply in your local.
