This is my second year in the Red Clay Consolidated district teaching at A.I. DuPont Middle School as an English 7 teacher. Before my position in Red Clay I worked for 15 years in Cecil County, MD. I started as a paraprofessional at the High Road school and worked up to become a teacher in this setting. I moved to the public sector in 2015 and worked as a special educator.
I am running for the executive board position to support rank and file workers and make sure that every member has a voice. I took an opportunity to become a member organizer in DSEA this year and I am finding out that rank and file educators are very passionate about educational policy but do not always know how to get involved. So my goal would be to make sure that everyone has a voice in the union.
