Candidate for DSEA Vice President: Jozette Hartsfield

Voting will take place January 5th through January 20th.

My name is Jozette R. Hartsfield, and I am proud to announce my candidacy for Vice President of the Delaware State Education Association (DSEA). I am running because I believe in the power of unity, advocacy, and leadership that truly reflects the voices of all educators-teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists alike.

For over 30 years, I have dedicated my career to education-serving students, families, and colleagues with commitment and compassion. My journey began in Philadelphia, where I spent 10 years as an Emotional Support Paraprofessional, followed by 2 years in Delaware County as a Classroom Assistant. For the past 18 years, I have proudly served in the Colonial School District, where I currently lead as President of the Colonial Paraprofessional Association (CPA).

Throughout my career, I have witnessed the strength of educators who show up every day, often doing more with less, yet never losing sight of their purpose-to make a difference. As your next DSEA Vice President, I will continue to fight for fair wages, equitable resources, respect for every role in education, and policies that put students and staff first.

I believe leadership is about listening, collaboration, and action. It's about building bridges across all locals, supporting one another, and ensuring every member knows they matter and their voice counts.

Together, we can strengthen DSEA and continue moving forward-united, empowered, and ready to meet every challenge with courage and conviction.
