Candidate for DSEA Vice President: Jeannette Wilt

Voting will take place January 5th through January 20th.

As a dedicated educator and union advocate, I ask for your vote as DSEA Vice President.

My priorities are clear: defend pay and benefits, secure classroom resources, and protect members’ rights.

My tenure as BEA’s Legislative and Membership Chairperson and seven years on DSEA’s Executive Board, prior to my election as Treasurer in 2018 and appointment as Vice President in 2022, built a strong foundation to defend public education. For nearly two decades, I have attended countless conferences, enhancing my ability to lead.

As Treasurer for five years, I presided over the budget, expanding staff while maintaining balance. I served on the Early Childhood Education Task Force and EMAC, actively participating locally and nationally. I have spoken at board meetings, lobbied legislators, walked picket lines, and worked to elect education-friendly candidates.

The Redding Consortium redistricting plan remains paramount and I will continue to voice member concerns. Educator safety remains essential; I will advocate for clear prevention policies, incident reporting, and support for injured staff.

I am “dedicated to making a difference.” This is how I approach students, colleagues, and our Union. Believing in our membership's power, I will use my skills to fight for you.
