Tips to Prevent Summer Learning Loss
Children and young adults need ongoing opportunities to learn and practice essential skills. This is especially true during the summer months. The wonderful image of summer as a carefree, happy time when "kids can be kids,” can be tempered with enriching experiences such as summer camps, time with family, and trips to museums, parks, and libraries.

Annual Scholarship Benefit Golf Tournament now on June 20th
DSEA will hold its annual Scholarship Benefit Golf Tournament on June 20th at Maple Dale Country Club in Dover. The scholarships benefits students graduating from Delaware public high schools. The two scholarships are: Christopher K. Smith Memorial Future Teacher Scholarship and the Howard Weinberg Scholarship.
The Smith scholarship awards one $4,000 to an outstanding student who chooses to major in teaching. The Weinberg scholarship awards $1,000 per year (max of four years) to the child of a DSEA member.
The event is limited to 100 golfers. There are sponsorship opportunities available. DSEA also provides lunch, dinner, awards and prizes, as well as a sports memorabilia auction.
