Dear DSEA colleague:

Do you have strong opinions about education reform? Redesigning middle and high schools? Special education and accountability? Referenda and/or school finance reform? Charter schools?

More and more often, DSEA finds itself in need of pulling together groups of members to serve on focus groups or attend meetings with policymakers on various education issues.

If you are willing to be contacted about possibly being part of such a group (normally a one-time occurrence), we urge you to click here to add your name to the list.

Policymakers, legislators and other decision-makers need to hear from you directly. These meetings are often an excellent opportunity to really make a difference for our profession.

Thanks very much.
In unity,

Barb

President

P.S. We have an immediate need for people for several DSEA focus groups being conducted by Vision 2015 – a joint effort of Delaware’s Business Roundtable and the Rodel Foundation which is looking at the next wave of school improvement. They will have reports and recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly by June 1. DSEA serves on this large group and has volunteered our members to be several of their focus groups (other groups include administrators, business leaders and parents). They are particularly looking to talk with teachers and specialists with five years or less experience first. The dates are April 6 and April 11. If you think you would be able to participate, please e-mail me directly with your name, local association, school, job title, and years of employment I will get back to you with confirmation and more specifics.
And yes, please fill out our form also, so that you will be in our database.
Thanks very much!
DSEA
