Two State Pension Workshops remain: tonight plus April 19 and April 20
Every year the State Pension Office offers free informational sessions on the state pension system to help you prepare for retirement.
There’s a session tonight April 12, 7-9pm at Brandywine High School.
The final sessions are April 19, 7-9pm at the Delaware State Troopers Association, Messina Hill Road off of N. DuPont Hwy in Cheswold; and April 20, 7-9pm at Stanton Middle School on Limestone Road, Wilmington.

Register today for DSEA’s annual Human and Civil Rights Banquet

It’s May 12 at the Dover Sheraton’s Sauvignon Room. Tickets are $36.
This is a most festive evening when we honor student winners in our art and writing contests.
And this year we have an outstanding Human and Civil Rights Awardee: Reuben Salters, well-known community leader in Dover; long-time Dover Councilman; founder of Dover’s African American Festival, the Inner City Cultural League, and the Sankofa African Dance Company.

1. Think about the best training you ever attended. What was that training, and what made it so good?
2. What sort of programs (topics and types of programs, i.e., discussions, speakers, training) would excite you to attend?

Our State Workers Coalition agreement on health care and pension changes moves from DE House to Senate
It’s HB 81, which DSEA supports.
    Read a summary here.

Through the Coalition of State Workers United for a Better Delaware we negotiated no reduction in anyone’s pension or health care benefits.

While not painless, the agreement held the State to its commitment to provide same level of pension and health care benefits. You may have to pay a little more or wait a little longer, but benefits will be there when you need them. This applies to all DSEA members, those in education plus those who work for state agencies.
