Governor
Markell continues visits to schools to meet students and you
In his effort to hear directly from students and staff about education in
Delaware today, we have been helping Governor Markell arrange time in
schools to see and hear for himself. His visits so far have increased his
respect for the people who work in our public schools as well as
sharpened his sensitivity to the enormous pressures you face every day.
Tomorrow,
Friday, November 6 at Stubbs Elementary (Christina) in Wilmington, staff
only, from 3-4pm.
Dec. 9,
1-2pm with students; 2-3pm with staff at Appoquinimink H.S., Middletown
Dec. 18,
2-3pm with students; 3-4pm with staff, at Baltz E.S. (Red Clay, Elsmere).

Race to the Top now at DSEA web
page
The federal
government, specifically the U.S. Dept. of Education, has put forward a
competitive grant program for states. The states who most closely meet
the criteria will be in the best position to be awarded millions of
dollars in one-time grant money.
Called "Race to the Top," it seeks to drive certain areas of
education reform with funding.
