Read Across America

The Cat in the Hat is 50 years old in 2007! Started in 1998 as a way to get kids excited about reading, NEA's Read Across America has become the nation's largest reading event.
The year-round program culminates each year on or near Dr. Seuss's birthday, March 2.

This year's winning entry to be a highway billboard using the message of the book Oh the Places You'll Go!
Click here for all the information and rules about this year's Read Across America contest for regular public and charter school students in Delaware.

The delivery deadline is Friday, February 12, 2008.

Each year here in Delaware we promote a reading contest for your students. This year's contest involves producing and describing a billboard poster to encourage the community to pay attention to some aspect of their local environment.
All K-12 regular public school and charter school students in Delaware are invited to participate.

Prizes
The Grand Prize winner will see his/her billboard poster blown up on Delaware's highways as part of DSEA's Great Schools media campaign.
